I am needing to get pricing together to install an auto attendant on an Option 11 system. What all needs to be purchased to get an auto attendant up and going? Is it better just to buy Meridian Mail? If so what would need to be purchased and would not cost a lot? Also is there a third party company that would work?

opt 11's, as disigned, love meridian mail, and you can get
auto att. with it too! others work well also.
pricing would be system and vendor specific.
you'll also need a vendr. meridian mail can be installed fairly easily, are there any cards in slot 10 of your opt11?

Meridian Mail seems to be going away. The new thing is Call Pilot. There are 3rd Party Applications like Octel and Periphonics too(Peri was bought out by Nortel). I haven't seen too many 3rd party apps hooked up to Opt 11s. Call Pilot might be your best bet but for sure some research on your part will be needed to compare the options. Octel works ok but most prefer the Nortel products. Periphonics is an IVR but not a voice mail box. Call Pilot could you both the menu service you are looking for and voice mail boxes.

I was told that Call Pilot will not work with an Option 11 system. Could you please point me in the right direction on purchasing Call Pilot at a reasonable price. I was quoted over seven thousand for meridian mail. Does this seem right or over priced? Thank you for your help.
