my results are too choppy.. i need to make it smoother...
what settings, methods or structures should i use to make it as smooth as possible.. its just too choppy on a pentium 2.

what do you mean by choppy ?

are you using the component or a scrollbar of your making ?

i am currently using the component provided by flash MX

i am using scroll pane, with a movie clip embedded inside it.

i would use a text box with a single scroll bar, but there is a graphic that i would like to scroll with it as well.

there is a lot of text, and although i set it to dynamic, without embedding the font, it still moves rather slow and produces what i call a 'choppy' effect. in other words, its just not smooth. while its works fine on my power PC, it doesn't when i test it on a celeron 366 laptop.

perhaps i should avoid using the image, and just use a text box with a scroll pane?...

thanks bill.

so is the text box with the scrollbar inside the scrollpane. hard to tell from your answer. that can be a problem. if thats the case then you might want to look at this....an extended scrollpane.

go to downloads then check out the scollpanes
