I am working with a system that has a canned crystal report that generates payment receipt data for customers. The canned report is 32KB in size with the data generated. In order to brand the report, we have added OLE Images, text boxes and hyperlinks which increased the size to 2717KB.

Does anyone have any ideas how to reduce the size of OLE Objects to maintain a resonable sized document?

All the generated reports are saved in a SQL Database for recovery.

That seems like a very large increase in size - how many images are you using? First impression is that you could probably change the format and/or resolution to get them to a manageable size without a visible reduction in image quality..

What version of CR are you using? If it's XI or above take a look at dynamic image locations in the user guide. And if you happen to be using Business Objects Enterprise you can store the images in the repository and link them to the reports.
