Is there any way out there to optimize sites written entirely in flash for relevancy based search engines such as Google?

Generally that's my Number 1 reason against building a site entirely in Flash, but i get lots of clients that have had a site written entirely in Flash asking me to help them get higher ranks in Google.

Apart from starting from scratch with a site written in HTML, is there anything that can be done?

I would say designing a site entirly in Flash is a very poor idea from the point of view of compatability. Users can disable or not have flash installed at all, but with good old HTML they ain't got a lot of choice. ;-)

It sounds to me like those clients who have already had sites designed entirely in Flash, have had it done so by designers who haven't quite grasped this concept - but I am willing to be corrected. :)

Regards, Andy.
