optimizing a website with lots of jpegs

Hi,
I would like some advice. I have written a website with around 100 pages. Each page has a jpeg picture on it which is held in a separate "images" folder.

Is there anyway I can optimize all of the pictures around 150 in this one images folder so that the site runs more quickly. At present it is very slow to load due to the pictures, and I don't want to have to go through each one - one by one and make them smaller!
