I have a source table that contains millions of records. The number of rows hitting the target will be limited by two conditions. My question is will it be faster for the mapping to implement the conditions in the SQL statement or have a filter do it?

Thanks!

I'm sure it will be much faster having the database do the filtering rather than the map. You'll be bringing over all the rows if you put in a filter object, so the map will have to wade through all of them. If it's a fixed filter condition, it's always better to add it to the SQL source qualifier. And if the database is not on the same server as Informatica, you'll be slowed down by the network also - doh!
