Dear All,

we have a helpdesk number that our users (internal) normaly call (ext.3333). As we work in shifts in our helpdesk we sometimes have to forward ext.3333 to our mobiles. We now have a new teammember and a few users cant get trough to her mobile.

What happens is:
User calls 3333 -> 3333 is forwarded to my mobile = works.
User calls 3333 -> 3333 is forwarded to new teammembers mobile = call goes to 3333 after a moment phone displays: "Hang up and try again".

As it works with my mobile I cant see how it could be configuration of the users phone or the ext.3333. On the other hand some user get trough to our new helpdesk members and some not, what would indicate the calling phone to be the problem. To be honest I am lost.

Anyone has an explanation or idea I could try?

Many thanks and kind regards,
Asok

1. On the ext 3333 are you able to pick up the phone and call her cell directly?

2. Did you attempt to dial her number in a 7 or 10 digit format?

3. Does your CFW key allow enough digits to dial her number?

4. Is the NCOS on your phone great enough to allow you to dial her number?

5. Do you have CFO or CFF in your CDB?

6. In BARS, is her NPA or NXX defined with the correct routing information?

7. Finally, Did she give you the right number? :) Maybe she just didn't want to be on call!

Hi All,

many thanks for your responses! Please find the answers to your questions below.

1. On the ext 3333 are you able to pick up the phone and call her cell directly?
NO, same pattern. After dialing her mobile directly the phone displays: "Hang up and try again".

2. Did you attempt to dial her number in a 7 or 10 digit format?
The mobile has 9 digits and we put a 0 before the extension. So 10 digits in total.

3. Does your CFW key allow enough digits to dial her number?
Yes, as all other helpdesk members mobile extensions have the same lenght.

4. Is the NCOS on your phone great enough to allow you to dial her number?
As my mobile works I assume that this is the case.

5. Do you have CFO or CFF in your CDB?
I could I check that?

6. In BARS, is her NPA or NXX defined with the correct routing information?
I could I check that?

7. Finally, Did she give you the right number? :) Maybe she just didn't want to be on call!
The number is right ;)

Kind regards,
Asok

Hi all,

4. Is the NCOS on your phone great enough to allow you to dial her number?
I changed the NCOS of our helpdesk phone (3333) from NCOS4 to NCOS0. I can now call her mobile directly but when I try from the users phone it still dosent work.

Kind regards,
Asok

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
