Is this scenario possible:
The Opt 11C/Release 25.30 site I maintain needs to have
the SSC replaced, according to tech support. I want to
archive the database to a PCMCIA card and restore it to
my lab switch by installing 25.30 software to the lab's
SSC card, and use the same AUX ID/keycodes as the
defective card. I would then take the lab card to the
site, install the defective card's security dongle onto
lab's card, and install the lab card into the PBX. The
lab card, when booted up, will now have the site's
security ID and Aux ID. (We did it with a "gold" dongle in
the past, but we don't have it now)

Could you not back up to the pcmcia, install the new SSC in the live system, out of hours and then load the database on to the SSC?

Cheers,

If you are only replacing the SSC and not the software daughter board then I would still complete and archive on your PCMCIA card. Then power main cabinet down. Pull out the SSC card and swap the software daughter board and any other daughter boards (and dongle) across to the new SSC. This means that all software and data remains intact and no need to load software etc. It is a different story if you are trying to achieve more than just swap out the SSC.

You can complete what you are trying to achieve also without golden dongle but when you take the new SSC to site you still need to complete a dummy upgrade and change the TID etc as will be the TID of your Lab PABX. It is as already recommended to just complete onsite. Hope this helps?
