Opt. 11C and Pvt. Line Problem

Have an old Opt 11C Rel. 21.35 (I know its old, but it's a county office and they won't budge) that has an office with a couple of 2616's set to use private centex line on the sets.

The Pvt lines have been set up and working for years.

New twist, person is only working half-days and wants answering machine on 1 Pvt line.
(No Meridian mail either)

Hooked up answering machine before switch, machine answers after 4 rings OK. Problem is we hear a ringback tone coming from the Opt 11 until ring timeout occurs.

So,I tried GH Trouts solution with a different RDB and TRK. Set up to auto-terminate on an analog port so I can hook the answering machine up to it.

Now when I try to set up a Hot D key to be a 2-way hotline, ( HOT D 4 7120 3301 R) every time I try to program the key I get the SCH code of 0205 0r 0360.

I even tried this on my lab setup witha 11C at rel 22 and still the same.

Any suggestions?

Setup an analog phone and hook the ans mach to it.
on the 2616 make CLS FNA and set FDN to the analog DN number. when 2616 doesn't ans call will forward no answer to the Ans Mach.

give the analog the same dn as the 2616 and make 2616 fnd
if you make it fna to a different dn it will ring at least 8 times before answer

Ok, let me explain this a little further.

These Lines are truly Private loop start Centrex lines that appear on keys 8 and 9 of two 2616's that have their own DN's on key 0. These Private lines have to be bothways lines as calls are made in and out on these lines.

So any type of forwarding will not work with private lines, that is why I tried to set it up by putting the Ans. machine before the switch. That is when we get the ringback tone after the Ans. machine answers. It's definetly the Opt 11 that is producing the ringback tone as I can remove the bridging clips to the switch and it goes away.

So that brings me to trying to do the setup with the Auto-terminate on a Analog station and using the HOT key method, but I can not get the switch to do like Gene's example.

You can put an Analog phone with PVR DN the same as the 2616 phone and hook the Ans mach to that port. just make sure you don't make the analog phone the MARP.

Have the local carrier place a voice mail box on the line and that will eliminate the ringback and the messages can be retrieved from anywhere.
