Hi

I'm having some trouble with ringing cycle options. From reading the past posts - I thought all I had to do was go in to LD 15 and change the CFN to the required number of rings. However this didn't work as expected. Internal calls would ring 4 times and go to VM external call would only ring once? This only affected anolouge sets.

The sets I wanted to change were digital so I also played about with DFN, but it didn't seem to have any effect.

Can anyone offer any advice on where I'm going wrong - and can you set diffrent options for external / internal calls?

Any help much appreciated

It's cofigured via the RCO (0, 1 or 2)prompt on the set.
The RCO prompt is related to the CFN0, CFN1, CFN2 and the DFN0, DFN1, DFN2.
If CFN2 and DFN2 are configured with a 9 and your set has configured with RCO 2 your phone is going to your voicemail after 9 rings

CFN0 3 ############ (Internal Rings = 3)
CFN1 10
CFN2 14
DFN0 6 ############ (External Rings = 6)

Are configured in LD 15 RDR datablock

Hi Thanks

- Thats what I thought , but it doesn't seem to work that way on our system?

Internal & external calls seem to behave diffrently also digital & anolouge diffrent to.

Any idea why or what I need to change to rectify it.

did you change the RCO option on the actual telephone set? If not it won't change the way the phone rings. You will match up the RCO with the DFN and CFN prompts.

hi John thanks for your input

Yes I set the RCO on the TN's but I cant understand why the phone behaves diffrent on internal and external calls? ie it was ringing 4 cycles on internal calls but going to voicemail after 1 ring on external calls.

And anolouge diffrent fron digital -Changing CFN din't seem to alter digital ring cycles, are digital handsets controlled by DFN rather than CFN?

CFN0 4 <---CFN = Internal rings
CFN1 1
CFN2 8
CFTA NO
DFN0 3 <---DFN = external rings
DFN1 1
DFN2 1

If you want it same I E,
CFN1 6
DFN1 6

RCO on set - 1

THANKS

I will have another go tomorrow, and let you know how I get on.

hi

All working fine now. - thanks for your help.

No doubt I will be back soon - as I am still trying to get to grips with PBX programming.

DFN0 1-(4)-15 Number of distinctive ringing cycles for CFNA,
Option 0

How is DFN0-2 = for external calls???

DFN0-1 is for people that activated distinctive ringing by dn, when did it became for external calls and CFN0-2 is for internal calls?

Hi Yyrkroon

Thats what I thought, but on my PBX DFNO seems to control external ringing - thats what had me stumped. When I set DFNO to 1 all external calls on sets( DIGITAL & ANOLOUGE) with a RCO1 went to voicemail after 1 ring cycle.

Not sure if my pbx is set up diffrent to normal?

Kooltech,

Not sure if you changed your CFN and DFN back to what they were, but I can see where RCO 1 would 1 ring cycle since your last printout you have CFN1 = 1 ring.

From your CDB above:

FNAL FDN
CFN0 4 = 4 rings if RCO 0
CFN1 1 = 1 ring if RCO 1
CFN2 8
CFTA NO
DFN0 3
DFN1 1
DFN2 1
