Hi

I’m an IP man that has just been on the 2 day MX and the 5 day LX courses in the UK.

Got to admit that although Ive got the system / IP side of the 3300 licked, getting to grips with the nitty gritty voice side is tricky.

I hooked my Demo kit up to the PRI last night for the first time. I have my auto attendant more or less licked, happy with day/night ops. Ext programming and hunt groups ok.

At the moment, with a default Pri 3 digi database loaded when I try and dial out I get Access Denied regardless of what CoR my phones are in (and the default to 6, open)

Anyhow. Nether of the two courses gave any info on the Ops manager (that I can remember)

Also I have a large install coming up (200 user) and from the course it seams to imply that handset button configuration has got to be done on a phone by phone basis. Is this try? Surely not?

Are there any other forums that anyone can recommend? I’m glad to come across some 'other' 3300 users.

Cheers

Tim

What does Opsman have to do with your PRI problem? You're probably getting access denied because your IMAT programming is incorrect. The PRI is getting a facility message back from the carrier and it is relaying that back to the telephone's display.

As for the button programming on the sets, yes, it's done on a set by set basis, but as of somewhere in 5.X you can do a copy, so it's not as painful as it used to be.

Sorry I didnt complete the mail to well did I.

I cant find the Mitel Networks 3300 Configuration Tool on the cd that came with the 3300.

Ive got folders 3rd_party,Database, Documentation, Product_support, snmp, software and tools but unless Im missing something. I cant see it in any of those.

Intresting you can about the copy option, thats useful if its there, again, not covered on the 2 or 5 day course.

OK. Ill go and read up on IMAT. Cheers

I'm not sure if the quick config tool is supported/used anymore. I've never actually seen it, I've done all of my systems from scratch.
You can find IMAT on Mitel Online, you'll need it to connect to the NSU, unless of course you have an embedded PRI card, then IMAT isn't used.

This is the link to the manual on the Mitel Site

For a numpty like me it looks like a bloody good way of doing a 200station installation at the click of a button.

So how would you go about installing 200+ phones and directory numbers? Manually? Ugh?

I am using the PRI module on the 3300MX on my demo / test kit rather than an NSU

Cheers

Tim

I've never had to install 200+ phones. :) Hence no need for the tool.

Ohhh, ok, the module doesn't require IMAT, it's all programmed within the ESM.

Also check your COS for your phones and trunks. If you need to dial out using ISDN trunks (I think it's the same for analogue)you need to have the "Public Access via DPNSS" set to YES. Although it's not actually a DPNSS link the system "treats" it as such. There was a document about this on MITELonline in the knowledgebase.
Hope this helps

Regards,
Eugene

Why not use range programming for your 200+ sets? I did an install of over 300 sets. This did not take longer that about an hour or so.

That will sort the Ext numbers ext out.

Im thinking more of the buttons on the phone?

Say all 200 user have a 5220 phone. Id like to place the DND button in a certain place, ACD in a certain place. Can that type of thing be done with a copy command of some kind?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, Yes. I can see the CoS Public Access via DPNSS. It is set to No at the moment, Ill try that tonight when I get another chance to play.

Thank You Very Much for that

Certainly the copy command under the multiline set key assignment form WILL allow you to do just what you need to. However this is only available in release 5.2 (could be 5.1 can't remember) but if it's not then certainly 5.2, anything prior to this does not support the copy command for buttons. The copy button is located next to the change, change page and change all commands.
