Hi, I have posted this before but still no resolve...

I am not getting the OPS Manager to "see" changes on the controllers. Both during initial setup (pending changes generate blank blank) or when I just make day to day changes.

The pending collection column under the Telephone Utilies link remain NO. What is needed specifically for this to work. I have followed the same procedures and steps that I took for at least 4 other sites and they had no problems.

Any help is appreciated. I am running version 7.4 OPS and Ent Mngr 3.0. The elements are all 3300's
Thanks

I've never seen anything like you describe either.

Are the Networking and Tapi options enabled?

The telephone directory is set up?

You were able to do a full collect?

SNMP is on by default isn't it?
Yes I was able to do a full collect, the Mitai, Networking etc options are enabled. The Telephone Directory is setup.

I was also able to do a collection of unused circuits successfully.

Thanks,

SNMP is not on by default but it is only used for the Alarm notification to Ent. Mgr.

I have a feeling we're all missing something obvious here but I'll be .... if I know what it is.

Sorry

I am working with a brand new system.

I have not set up anything regarding OPSman

When I do a Pending Changes Display All I get tons of stuff regarding all the phones I'm setting up.

did you do a pending changes generate? that command is slightly different depending on you config. Cause I'm not using PNIs I do a pending change generate blank blank. I then need to do a sync. When I do the sync it fails.

So yes I see the same as you are kwbmitel, but looking at the pending collection column it still shows NO....

I must be missing something obvious...can't figure out what the heck it is.

PS: If you look under the network element editor it displays a non editable field called, element nr. This is not the same as the CEID is it? I can't imagine that it is cause well, it can't be editted.

thanks for the help so far

I also do not use the PNI and I have never used the Generate Pending Changes.

Element nr (Non-Redundant?) is it set for a 2K instead of a 3300?

Another thought occured to me. The name of your system. It must be A Capital Letter non Numeric first character. Is it?

yes,, I have followed the naming convention to the teeth.
it's set for 3300 and is was auto discovered.

this generate pending changes command was taught to us in our training. the trainer even gave us a supplement page for this.

It's mind boggling that i could do a full collect though

My clustered systems in the lab are the same way, I've never worried about it as it doesn't seem to impact anything. Ops will still do it's sync's as scheduled. Just so you feel you are not alone.

miteltech are you saying that you also don't see the pending collection column indicate that there are deltas to collect (display yes) although there are?

I reinstalled the software today and everything worked!
Thanks for the replies anyway,

Yah, that's what I was saying. I'm upgrading to EntMan 3.1 today, wonder if it'll disappear at that point. Or do I need to wipe and start again? Not something I'm about to do on a lab system, I don't really care if it's broken. ;)
