If the Ops Manager backup failed on a restore and there was no other backup available what would be my options?

I was thinking about synching Ops with Enterprise Man then doing a Full Collect from the elements.

Would that bring everything into Ops like before, including resiliency?

Thanks!

Chris

that's probably the only way to do it, set it up from scratch!

I think you may be lucky enough to have the sets still resilient but if they will show resilient in OPS is an entirely different question and one which I can't answer.

here's my thinking.
initially the sets were made resilient right?
resilient means that on both elements the directory numbers are listed in the RDN form listing both element's node numbers next to all the resilient sets (this makes them resilient together with some other programming on the secondary controller which only requires a device license).
These have not changed so you should be set, but again it's debatable if OPS manager will actually know this from a full collect. trouble is if you sync or propogate to the network elements after a full collect and OPS didn't see them as still resilient, the sync may change them from resilient to non-resilient.

anyway maybe someone else has other insight on this.

good luck

No Concerns,

I've rebuilt several systems with resilient sets.

OPS will recognise resiliency when it sees it via the Remote Directory Form.

Thanks for the input guys

Luckily enough I didnt have to risk it. I rolled it back to the latest R5/R8 setup and my problems disappeared. I am going to wait until the next update before trying R6/R9 again.

What issues did you have with the upgrade? Mine went fine and it's a huge cluster.

Hi, see my other thread.

Put simply - a tech upgraded it and it failed with ops SW error.

I was called in and I re-upgraded it and all worked perfectly well, sync's / scheduled backups to elements / etc.

However, I could not backup the Ops DB with 'Programmable DB' selected.
