I am completely stuck getting the MSR reader to use OPOS drivers (as required in 6.4.x) I've upgraded the p15xx drivers (to 3.5.x), installed the OPOS stuff from the radiant website (but the drivers in the p15xx folder are much more recent), tried every combination of settings on the BOH (maintenance: hardware) and FOH I can think of but nothing.

using a p1510-3xxx in the lab to test, have not tried with other p1510 series.

One constant, I've been using RSMsr as the OPOS string (per Radiant KB) I don't know if there's another option I could try.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Instead of selecting opos or keyboard wedge I think there is a radiant setting in ther as well. use that one.

Cheers,
Coorsman

thanks coorsman - that radiant option is only available in 6.4.9 (a point release you can't download so...) and 6.5.x. I'm installing 6.5.x literally now (reboot). will update post if this works, for certain.

UPDATE: oh, yes, right. forgot the key isn't licensed for 6.5. fromage. ah well, try again next week

I was having the same issue with "Could not initialize OPOS Mag Stripe Reader" until it was brought to my attention that you cannot have the OPOS testing utility or the P15xx/Radiant Hardware Settings window open in the background.

Make sure Aloha is the only application accessing the OPOS device.
