Having a strange time with aloha, tm88iii and opos drivers. Printing is fast and normal except for a few times when the print will glitch out and pause, or sometimes change font size, or even print the check twice on one ticket.

Also when printing the credit card slips, the first copy prints and then the second copy ALWAYS pauses for about 4 or 5 seconds then it prints.

Any clues?

If it's printing *most* of the time, you can probably rule out configuration issue- i.e. your dip switch settings and printer type in Aloha are probably right. But it never hurts to double check.

Is it just one printer, or does this happen on more than one machine?

If it's just this one, the very first thing I'd do before I invested any time is swap it w/another printer, and see if the problem follows the printer.

If you are still have a problem and I had to take a wild guess, I would say it's an inteface issue. Are you using serial or parallel? Cuz parallel is notoriously flake. But if it's serial, I would try another COM port- there could be an issue with the IRC, etc.

Last but not least, there is always a chance of good old power issues. Fluccuations in the power are well know for causing problems with printers, particularly remote ones. It's usually the hardest to verify though and gets put last on the list-but definitely keep it in the back of your mind.
