Has anyone had any problems with Off Premise Notification on the BCM? The customer is running 3.6. OPN is used alot and it works most of the time but intermittently stops paging them.
No, We have been in contact with Nortel on this issue. They do not feel that putting in the cumulative patch for 3.6 will help. We do plan to put this in anyway. It would take me a long time to list all of the things we have tried. We feel that it is possible that there could be a problem with Verizon which is the paging company. They will not cooperate with us. They tell us that they have no way of giving us any records of calls coming in and pages going out.
We have been looking at CDR. We have seen 99% of the time it is calling out. There have been 2 instances where we had timestamped messages and no record in CDR of any calls being made.The time frame was approx. 2-4 hours where they did not receive pages. Keep in mind that they say they did not receive any pages and yet we have seen the system dialing out. This problem is getting worse. Nortel has checked our programming and it looks fine. Nortel has looked at the release reasons. The customer is using a PRI.
They found some instances of "interworking unspecified". They don't know why this is coming up. I can't find any info giving me a good reason why this comes up. I know we have many variables here. There are places where there are no page towers. Also the customer does not understand completely how it works. The customer is a doctors office with about 12 doctors.
