I am considering IPoffice as a small office solution within my organization. I am interested in what any of you think about it's quality as well as any plusses and minuses. I have many years experience with the Avaya Definity platforms and am quite comfortable with that product line, but have little exposure to ipoffice.

TIA

My company just put an IP406 in one of our remote offices. We are an Avaya shop and had been planning on putting in a ProLogic at this location but due to some upper management opinions we needed to be installing IP solutions not Legacy PBX's. The configuration is different, so you have to not think Definity. Coverage does not mean coverage and Hunt Groups do not mean Hunt Groups. Incoming call routes and Short Codes still have me a little confused. Remote administration is a problem if you don't have them configure an internal Modem in the system. You can administer the box over the LAN/WAN but if you ever install an IP412 the config files can reach 1Meg in size, so the internal modem looks like the way to go.

We have over 500 sites under maintanence in uk.
The System is robust & reliable if correctly configured.

The programming interface is deceptivly simple & can lead novices to making programming errors or not realising how to implement some user reqests.

Provided you have an ISDN line remote mantanence is simple, using either a TA with dialup networking or a small IPO configured to connect to the remote site.

we currently resolve 90% of reported faults remotley, engineers are usualy only required to replace the occasional System module (rule of thumb on the support desk is IPO's do not go wrong) or perform a software upgrade.

As a final recomendation I have BOUGHT (paid for) an IPO Small Office system for my on personla use at home!
