Opinions on Dreamhost

I'm looking to launch a site in the US and I'm on the lookout for a good, reliable host. The site will be fairly low traffic but could grow very quickly.

To that end I'm interested in hosting the site (at least initially with Dreamhost. Has anyone here used them?
I'd be interested to know what your thoughts are regarding their level of service, speed etc?

I bought an account with them last year (after someone at work recommended them). I managed to find a 50% off promo code and remain satisfied at the price.

Service? Not seen any downtime yet... so very happy there.

I would recommend them from personal experience.
