Opinions needed... W2K DC in dmz for authentication?

Hi,

I was asked to put Windows 2000 domain controller in our DMZ in order to have our VPN users be able to authenticate using their network login. I have opened only the ports neccessary for the DC in the DMZ to talk to the DC on the inside network. Everythings is working fine, but I am concerned that this is not the best solution.

Any ideas or comments?
