I have bought two Visioneer Scanner and both have quit working. They say the scanner is locked when it is not. Can someone tell be about a good USB Scanner for around $100.00.

I use a "CanoScan" N650W. Small (1 1/4" high), works great (three years now), uses LED pickup instead of flourscent light fast warm-up), and no power needed (uses power from USB plug). No special features such as negative scanning or transparency scanning, but good all-round use.

My favourate's are canon and Epson as manufactures.
Their native software is excellent and although both manufactures make other periferals they are particularly good at scanners and printers.

I have an Agfa Scanwise flatbed scanner that I bought in the UK for 55GBP about 2 years ago and I'm very pleased with it.

It's USB and the Scanwise software they provide works fine or I can scan direct into other programs e,g, Paintshop Pro
