Hello everyone-

What is your opinion of the Partner ACS 509 R8 processor? I've read a few stories about them going bad after power failures and also the backup batteries not keeping the settings during brief outages even with new batteries. Is this particular processor's failure rate worse than the other Partner processors?

Thanks!

I would say R7 was the dog of the bunch. I've had luck with R8's I have installed.

The loss of programming dogged the early versions of the R7 processor. About the only possible problem I've heard about is static in conjunction with a Partner Voice Messaging. Other than that, the R8 is a good processor.

I just found this article on the Avaya support website. If you work on Partner ACS equipment hardware, this is for you.

So the moral of the bulletin is to avoid plugging a two line analog device into the station ports on a 5x9 processor.

I do wonder if the same would apply to 016 ETR boards used with the Merlin Legend and Magix systems. [ponder]
