Operator with 2 primary cov on 2 other stations.

The operator used to get her vm msgs on her vm but something changed & I can't get it to work. After the call follows coverage it returns back to her ext the phone just rings forever. Both day & night.

I would advise printing her "EXTENSION INFO" and see how (IF) the coverage is set up.

What is your transfer return setting.Set it to 9, you may also need to work with the cover delay settings. The more covering extension you have for a user the longer it takes to go to voicemail. The voicemail coverage is most likely higher than the coverage delay.
