I guess you'd consider me as 'newbie' to the PBX Mitel world. I've posted a few things here before, and found it very helpful.

We have a 200CX system, and it's currently set up so that when a call comes in from outside the auto attnedant comes on with a greeting and gives the caller some options, to DIAL 0 fo for the OPERATOR, 1 for SALES and 2 for SUPPORT. And of course, if they know the extension number, or they know the last name.

If they dial 0 they are transfered to ext 2100, which is a line appearance set up on 3 different phones, and if it's not answered it goes back to the AutoAttendant. Don't ask me why it was set this way, it just was.

What I would like to have is a voicemail for the Operator, so that if they dial '0' and nobody picks up, it goes to a mailbox.

From what I can gather the 0,1 and 2 are set as MBOX# in form 50 and then transfered to an extension number, which is not an actual extension in Form 09. In the case of 0 and 1, they are both forwaded to the line appearance 2100 on 3 physical phones. I don't know if there were any other config necessary to set it up to it's current status.

In a perfect world if dial 0 isn't answered then maybe another set of options are presented, where the user can select to leave a message, or go back to the main menu. But is all we can get for now is just a mailbox destination in the case of an unanswered Dial 0, then great.

We don't actually have an operator at our office, which is why the line appearances on the separate phones.

Thanks for any help

Here is the way I would set it up.

First remove appearances of 2100 from phones and form 19

Then program 2100 on spare ONS port (hopefully you have one)

Now restore 2100 on keys and form 19.

Forward 2100 to voicemail on RNA.

Create VM 2100 as "dial zero mb" (aka general delivery)

Create Message waiting Key on phones that will retrieve messages.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Again, remember I'm pretty greeen to the PBX system, so bear with me. In additon my Folio docs have gone a little haywire. Whenever I try to query, the app closes with a Window error, and the Folio viewer isn't the most user friendly when you trying to find info. I've already tried re-installing with no luck, but that's another story.

So, would you eb able to give me a little more guidance for the following, and where the config is set.

Forward 2100 to voicemail on RNA.

Create VM 2100 as "dial zero mb" (aka general delivery)

Create Message waiting Key on phones that will retrieve messages

Much appreciated for taking the time and replying to the original.

Thanks

Some of the options i've mentioned require minimum software levels. If you can't find what I mention below. tell us what your SW version is

Forward 2100 to voicemail on RNA.
In form 9, create ONS extension 2100. There is an option to access forwarding via the more key or some such.(Minimum SW rel ?? req'd)

Create VM 2100 as "dial zero mb" (aka general delivery)
Form 50, create mailbox 2100 as extension MB. Form 19 controls dial 0 point to make zero dial 2100

Create Message waiting Key on phones that will retrieve messages
Form 9, expand set, select vacant key, select more option until mailbox option appears. .(Minimum SW rel ?? req'd)

Hey kwbMitel,

Thanks for the reply.

According to our Feature Options paper work, our system version is 2.1. I wasn't able to locate the 'Forwarding' option under Form 09

All I could find under the the ons sets were

First Menu

1Move 2Find Ext 5More 7Bay/SLT/CCT 9Show CESID

When selecting 5 it brings me to

1Range PRGRM 2Find Ext 3Range Delete 4Program Like 5More (goes to previous menu) 8Range W/Keys 9Auto Program.

Under each of the options I don't see anything familiar to 'Forwarding'.

Maybe as you stated our version doesn
't have th 'forwarding' option

Thanks

Correct, Version 2.X is VERY OLD.

You will not have the option for the VM Message key either.
