while p630_6c4 was restarting , I connect my pc to "serial port 2" of p630_6c4 and i can see the code output to the screen of my pc. About 2 minutes After "AIX is starting" was showed in the operator panel, "0c31" appeared on the operator panel all the time but nothing prompt on the screen of my pc and I had pressed almost every key on my pc but it didn't work. At that time I switch my pc to "serial port 1" of p630_6c4, it didn't work either.

Then i tried to connect my pc to "serial port 1" before p630_6c4 was restarting and then restart p630_6c4. Everything goes well and when "0c31" show on the operator panel AIX prompt me to press "1" to select the console.
Finally i can successfully login to AIX.

Why the above problem would occur ?

Looks like you have a getty login running on serial port 1 but not on serial port 2.

Go into "smitty tty" and check out the settings for your working S1 port - these will probably be 9600,8,1,n, login enabled. Use 'smitty tty' to add another tty on the S2 port making sure login is enabled. You will then have two getty entries in /etc/inittab. At reboot you will get a login prompt whether you connect to port S1 or S2. When AIX is down you will get the service processor menus on either of these ports.
