We got a new fileserver (W2K SP3) as networker client (6.2 Build 109). The Legato Server is W2K SP2 mit Networker 6.01 / 174).

the first backup result was:
SYSTEM FILES:\ 4 retries attempted
SYSTEM FILES:\ Operation would block
the same with SYSTEM STATE
but SYSTEM DB was ok after 3 retries.

Also a directory in the Filesystem had the same error with some retries, another directory had no retries.

Whats wrong ?

Try Networker 6.13!
It's the newer version.

6.2 is only good for Win XP and NDMP backup!!!!!

Solution:

Because at the same time I renamed the networker server, I forgot to add the new name to the \res\rservers file. I added it only in the \res\servers file.
Now the backup is running without any retries.
