Operation Times Out Message

Hello all,

I'm working on Apache 2.0.40 with Red Hat Linux 9, Postgresql and PHP. Everything had been working fine until today when I tried to pull up the localhost and got nothing, just an "operation timed out while attempting to contact

http://www.localhost.com".

I looked at the error log and found nothing. I also tried restarting both apache and postgresql, but didn't improve things. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

So you have sprcified

http://www.localhost.com

in your /etc/hosts file as localhost or 127.0.0.1 ?

Or do you mean http ://localhost/ ? if so have you tried 127.0.0.1 inplace of localhost and what do you get ?
