I have an Access 97 database that has suddenly come up with the above error.
The repair utility will not work becuase there is no index

1. How has this happened ?
2. Can it be fixed

Thanks in advance

Paul

This should solve your problem...taken from another page, this is what the person did to resolve the error:

1. I tried decompiling, it did not solve the problem.
2. Repair and Compact database options on the tools menu produced the
error "Operation invalid without a current index".
3. Building a new db and importing didn't work as NO tables showed up
in the source db.
4. The same problem with trying to link.

Today's prize, and my grateful thanks, go to Gary Kjos for JETCOMP.EXE

Regards,
Adam.

P.S.....JETCOMP.exe is a file distributed with Access you may need to search for it but it normally lives in the same place as ACCESS.EXE

Any probs try finding it on MSDN.

I'm getting this same error and I'm afraid that I don't quite understand the reply. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Below is the link re Jetcomp.exe

Unfortunately, this Utility didn't work for us, so we had to do a Database Append to a new Database.
Painstaking process setting up the append queries in the correct order because of relationships, but worth the effort. And now we are prepared if it corrupts again.
