I searched and did not find anything addressing my questions here, so hoping this isn't an old question...
I have newly deployed Openstage 15 phones in both TDM and IP flavors.. My problem is with the message waiting key (MB). If there are no messages from Xpressions, and you press the envelope key, it calls Xpressions right away, no need to press any other keys. If the envelope key is lit, meaning a message waiting from Xpressiosn and you press the key, the phone displays "call server" and you need to press the OK key to initiate call back. Is this because the key is configured as MB and not PHML? I did a regen of my TAPRO, and the fixed keys are all empty in the REGEN, but if I display TAPRO, they are listed as FIX-MB etc, etc. When I attempted to change the TAPRO for button #8, I get an error message saying "keys for Openstage keys 1 - 8 are fixed, blah blah blah.... Is there a way to get the phone to call back Xpressions with the press of just one key? Thanks in advance!

I thought I would add that with our existing Optipoint phones, we do not have any issue with call back if the light is lit.

H500: AMO RICHT STARTED
ADD-RICHT:pM,1,,,17346,
"XP CALLBACK",XPRESION;
ADD-RICHT:pM,11,,,57346,
"XPR DIRECT",XPRESION;
ADD-RICHT:pM,12,,,57347,
"XP FORWARD",XPRESION;

If the callback RICHT PM is added then chose which one that the phone is to call when it presses the message envelope.
CHA-SBCSU:STNO=XXXX,PMIDX=??
Where PMIDX from above would be either 1, 11 or 12

The phone is already assigned to PMIDX 1, just like the Optipoints, and it does call it when the message waiting light is not on. I changed it to 11 just to see if it acted differently and it didn't... When there is a message, the user must press the message waiting key and then the OK key..... We do have a service contract, so, I'm going to open up a ticket and have Atos tell me if there is a work around or not.
I'll let you know..

Normal operation I think. ZIEL EVMACC contains your voicemail number?

MB is the correct key to use.

Optipoints dial straight away do they? You might have more luck reporting it as a bug - it's confusing for the users to not have a harmonized interface. Openstages have always behaved that way though, far as I can remember. There's no 4K config I can think of, it'll be in the software of the phone.

One of my contacts at Atos was able to get me an answer... There is a parameter in ZANDE / OPTISET / SNGLBTN that I changed from NO to YES. Now my envelope keys are PHML keys on my Openstage phones.

Yes, I don't recall it because normally I just copy and paste most settings for sites so it gets sent in automatically but yes that is it.

What do you mean, they are phonemail keys? Do you mean the behaviour is now as you want it? Or you changed something else too ?

I believe that they just function the way I need them to... They still say FIX-MB in TAPRO, but when they are lit up due to a message in Xpressions, users just need to press the key and it calls back to Xpressions. They no longer need to press both the Envelope key and the "OK" key to initiate the call back.

Parameter is exactly what you wanted, "Activate mail server (Xpressions) access via OpenStage envelope key as single button operation"

I had no idea that was even there. Always something new to learn on OS4K.

ZANDE / OPTISET / SINGLBTN was already set to Yes on my system, and I do have the PMIDX defined for the majority of my phones. I still have the problem where if I press it when it's dark it goes to voicemail, but when its lit is says "Nor Possible". I do not have Xpressions, but I do have a special extension that hits voicemail.

Here's a dumb question - when the mailbox light is activated by voicemail with a code is it possible to add any parameters to that code to set it up as a callback function? For example, if someone camps on tho the extension it will light the message light, and then when the user presses the button they will get a list of callback requests and they can pick one (or delete them). This is a common culprit is "My message light never goes off" complaints and because of it I have taken to disabling callback as I have been touching phones. We came from a PHML environment where all they had to do is press the button to call VM back, but when we switched to the new platform we have been told that is no longer possible. We do have the PMIDX set up, but it will ONLY call if the button is not lit up.

You can set the feature - 'Callback no answer stored in the mailbox' on or off
CBKNAMB
I normally set that to NO then callbacks just mature and ring without the lamp annoyance.
Then the lamp is only for Voicemail.

CBKNAMB is in SBCSU

Also ensure that DIGNODIS is set correctly for Display or Non Display Phones
DIGNODIS=Y for Non Display Phone
DIGNODIS=N for Display Phone
