If the IP addresses are fully routable between the sites and you can get the relevant SIP configurations correct on both systems it shouldn't be an issue.
Things to be aware of are SIP doesn't like NAT, so STUN or TURN servers are required.
Bandwidth and latency can be an issue depending on the links.
