Hello,

Recently I read the links in KC about the use of activeX to open OpenOffice documents in the web browser by clicking on open/edit(as shown in :
I found out there are samples about activeX on
My question is that is the above link from "greggriffiths" relevant to my objective of getting the OpenOffice opened in LL?

Honestly, I am still very green to OpenText - only a superficial knowledge that I have right now.

------------------------------------------------------------

In addition to the above doubt, last few days, Appnair had posted me to take a look at which I did and I can see the following :

But unexpectedly, when I tried to open an OpenOffice document, I got the following errors (pop-up consecutively after I clicked on OK button)

And I was lost on how to deal with the above error.

If anybody has any ideas or has experienced in doing this kind of stuff, kindly share with me on this issue...=)

Lastly, I would like to say "many thanks in advance"...

smallredville,
The errors in the screenshot look like missing registry keys, these keys would be added by the install of Livelink Explorer on a machine, what happens if you add these keys based on what appears in the Office sections of the registry ?

Hi ggriffit,

I thank you for your reply...

I followed your suggestion: by installing Livelink Explorer 4.7.0 and it worked (document can be opened with OpenOffice Writer) though I still see two error messages as shown in :

and

(No error message --> after installing the livelink explorer 4.7.0.

-------------------------------------------------------------

At the same time, I would like to check with you the followings:

1) How do I remove the error messages as shown in error_1.jpg and error_2.jpg (my OpenOffice application installed in client side is 2.3.1) - Is it by "add these keys based on what appears in the Office sections of the registry " as what you suggested me in your reply? If yes, does that mean I should go to the regedit to add it?

2) May I check with you, how to change the admin-webedit section as shown in: For example: I would like to add a new application in it, where should I go and edit it?

To be honest, I got the Livelink image installed in my laptop from my friend and by then, everything is set in the admin-webedit already (the OpenOffice and MS application)...thus I am not sure on how to edit it.

Lastly, I would like to say "many thanks in advance" and sorry if my questions are too long =)

With Regards&Thanks,

Hi ggriffit,

After following your suggestions, currently I have been able to open the Open Office documents from version 2.0.xxx to 2.4.xxx.

I also had found out about the part which control the webedit.admin section in the LiveLink.

I thank you for the great suggestions. =)

The only problem, that I am facing now is that I am unable to open it with OpenOffice 3.0 (Beta Version).

The followings are the errors messages consecutively shown as (I clicked on the 'OK' button)

Anyone has ideas or has seen the above errors before, please(especially the error3.jpg), kindly share it with me.

Lastly, I would like to say "many thanks in advance"...(^o^)

Regards,

The third error appears to be an ActiveX error which you should be able to google and get some instructions on how to resolve.

The other two links don't seem to work.
