So I got a couple of Dell servers and installed the latest OpenManage.
I configured SNMP to forward traps to my workstation.
My workstation also has SNMP set to listen, and also installed the OpenManage IT Assistant.
Using OM ITA I can see my servers, check their status and all is dandy. I am receiving SNMP trap notifications just fine as well.
What I cannot figure out for the life of me, is how to be alerted when a disk drive fails.
For example, I yank out a hard drive. On Dell OM ITA, the server changes to a yellow caution icon and in the ESM log, it tells me.
But, no email notification! I have setup Alerts/Actions saying to email me if anything happens. I checked all devices, all types of issues, etc. Yet no email.
BTW not an email issue as I have tested it using OM ITA test email.
