I am trying to add more drives to my dell 2800, I can see the virtual disk but cant seem to create a volume on them.

The raid card is a PERC 4e/DI. It is running the latest bios. I am running version 3.6 of the array manager. I have looked on the web, talked with Dell and still cant seem to figure out what is going on.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I never use OpenManage, I find it clunky and it's a known security threat.

You can manage the PERC and the drives attached through it from the PERC BIOS.

I don't remember an option to create a volume from the bios screen. I will have to check again.

thanks

Fixed it.

1. removed openmanage array utility.
2. reinstalled sp2

seems to have taken care of the problem.
