Openmail.exe Error

We have Microsoft Project 2000 and use it in conjunction with Outlook. The particular problem we are currently experienceing has to do when a TeamUpdate is sent out. My computer, Windows XP Sp 1, Outlook 2000, receives it fine, but when I click to "Update Task List" I get an error message with the file "Openmail.exe".

"Microsoft Project for Windows OPENMAIL MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: openmail.exe AppVer: 9.0.2000.124 ModName: openmail.exe
ModVer: 9.0.2000.124 Offset: 00017c3d"

I looked the error up in the Microsoft Knowledge base. They had a similar error listed but it was for TeamAssigns, which work just fine for me. It said to check and make sure that Outlook was my default mail client, which it is.
Any ideas?
