Has anyone set this up for CR XI Reports Server or BO XI?

I saw an old whitepaper stating that it might be supported in the future, and hoped that someone might have learned how to do this.

Hi,

We're just starting to look at this in CRS XI - have you managed it?

Currently we're stuck on creating a user - error message: "The secLdap plugin failed to get the dn for the user karenat"

Cheers,
Darran

We've now managed to connect to our openLDAP server and have successfully added users.

Hi,

We're trying to connect BOXI r2 to openLDAP server. We have upgraded the openLDAP server from 1.2 to 2.1 for the support of the LDAP protocol v3.

So now we can connect but we get the error "The secLdap plugin failed to get the dn for the group [group name]".

Since i saw you were able to set it up correctly, would you have any suggestions about that?

Thanks,

Patinsh

You need a group set up in your ldap settings - we created a "crystal" group for users who would be accessing crystal.

You then need to add this group to Crystal - in the Home->Authentication->LDAP section, add the group name (and just the group name, not cn=<group> or dn=<group>) in the Mapped LDAP Member Groups part.

You should then be able to add users who belong to this group.

Note that we're not using Crystal to create LDAP users and groups on the LDAP server - just connecting to it for authentication.

Cheers,
Darran
