Hi Guys -
We recently took over the Infrastructure (LAN & WAN) of a client company and therefore moved all the equipment to our data center. Since the move, users have complained that when they open files (specially Microsoft Office files) from network drives when connected via the VPN, opening those files is extremely slow.
To give you an example, opening an Excel file over VPN from a network drive (file size 329KB) takes about a minute and 30 seconds. Opening a Word document which is 267KB in size takes about a minute and 16 seconds. Copying these files locally to the desktop takes much less time; it's only the opening of files that takes forever.
Cisco TAC suggested that we try modifying the DF-bit settings on the ASA 5520 (VPN concentrator) to see if that would resolve issue. I am little hesitant to change that setting.
Does anyone have an idea on what else we could try to troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks for your help.
