Opening Text File With Multiple Users

All,

I have this text file that my application opens and writes data to. When multiple users are trying to use the application, it looks like one person is able to use the file and the others get permissions errors. I'm only guessing, but it looks like this is why people are getting errors when opening the file. What do you think? Is there a way around this? Thanks so much.

Text files are not really multi user applications.

Write the stuff to a database.

I have been thinking about a way around that. I found this web site the other day and I knew that this would be a major problem if it was implemented.
