I screwed up my system, I accidentally told the computer to open .bas (QBASIC) files with compuserve. How to I change it back, I've rigth-clicked ont he files and hit open with... and then I went and found QB45, but it doesn't show up in the list. How do I fix it?

Can using System Restore get you out of this problem?

You could also have a look at "To associate a file name extension with a file type" in the Help and Support program.

qbasicking,

I think you're on the right track, but you may need to "Browse", in order to select the correct program to open *.bas files. Additionally, ensure that you check the "Always use this program blah, blah,blah.." choice.

prescot9, I did browse, I selected Qbasic and hit open, but it didn't appear in the list.
if I use system restore wont that reset my entire system? I dont want that

try system restore. if you remember the date and time of your foul-up you can restore to the point right before that. i've done this twice. works like a charm.
