I tried to build a report based on a MS Access 97 database via ODBC. When I tried to select the database I get an ODBC error "There are no fields in the file..." and the database is not being selectetd. Opening the database via access and showing the query a lot of fields and data can be found.

The problem exists not on all databases. There are some where it works and others where it does not work.

Seems to be very confusing.

Thanks

Olaf

It might be a bad connector, go into your odbc manager and try creating a new odbc link then connect your report to it. you might also want to try a native connection and see if data is returning. Seagate Certified RCAD Specialist.

I created a new link but nothing changes. When I use a native connection everything is fine.

What else can cause this problem?
