Opening files using Outlook Journal

Whenever I work on a document, whether it be word, excel, powerpoint etc...it gets recorded into outlook97 journal. When I try to double click the entry, it doesn't open.

When I open up the actual applications (ie.excel) and open the files from within the application, then it works.
