Opening file using custom template

I have created a custom excel workbook template and i want to use this when i open files.
I need to open up delimited text files, but want them in the custom format.
what is the easiest way to do this or do i just have to copy and paste the data into the template?

is there some VBA command that can be used to open the file in the custom template without having to copy and paste???

any suggestions?
