opening file problem

I have major problems.

I have a split database. The data is in "CompanyData.mdb" The application files are in "Applications.mdb" with the data linked into it. The data base is secured.

When I go to open the "Applications.mdb", I get the following error.

MSAccess.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

************************************************************

The error log does not create. However, a file is created named: Secured and the type of file is an Access.LockFile.9

I never heard of such a thing.

How do I get access to open the "Applications.mdb"

I can open the Access database "CompanyData.mdb"

Man, do I need help. There is a lot of important applications in there. I did not make a backup.

I've never come across this one either. First thing I would try would be to create a new database and see if you can import the forms, reports etc. from Applications.mdb into the new database. It's a start.
