So have had couple of ASM's fail due to bad power supply. So found a a power supply online and am going to play with replacing. So today went to open up ASM8 today and I'm stumped. Found the screw on front next to fiber. Can see on back there appears to be couple of screws towards top and one in middle that are probably causing to not open but I have no idea how to access. Front piece is single piece. Don't want to force open as probably will break.

2 screws are under the label at the top of the module. This label can be peeled back on either side to access the screw holes that are near the left and right edge underneath this label. The other screw is under the label near the middle right of the module. I usually just punch a hole through this label with a Phillips screwdriver to access this screw. This label is very difficult to peel off without messing it up, but you might give it a try to see. You can feel where the screw hole is through the label. Once the 4 screws have been loosened the top housing can be separated from the bottom housing.

Thanks exsmogger. I could have spent probably rest of eternity looking for those screws. 20 plus years on Nortel and never had any idea the top labels on modules were actual stickers. Had always assumed were painted on.
