I use Outlook Express which worked well until recently. After logging on with my ISP (attglobalnet) and opening OE it indicates that message 1 of 12 is receiving but it never downloads or opens. I tried creating a new identity with new mail folders but no luck. Please help!

Just a suggestion. Have you contacted your ISP to be sure that your mailbox with them is not corrupted? I did not know if you had tested getting the mail from another program or not to see if it had the same problem.

I did have this happen to me once and my ISP was able to take a look and tell me the mailbox had to be rebuilt.

Try using Yahoo to check your mail account with attglobalnet. If you sign up with Yahoo mail, there is an option to check your other POP mail accounts. All you do is enter in your mail details that you have in Outlook, ie, mail.attglobalnet.com or what ever the POP3 serer is specified in your Outlook...Tools->Accounts and in there you can check the mail account details. You will also need your name and password.
Once you have set it up, you can use Yahoo to either check the mail, and take it OFF the attglobalnet server, or download it and leave it there for you to download using Outlook later. Its a handy tool that they provide. But you obviously have to sign up first. It could be a dodgy mail that you are waiting on.

If you know what the mail is and who it is from, you could always try blocking that address and it wont download it and skip to the next one... Jay~

My new Tae Kwon Do website is up and running!!

Both KeyTech and joegz offer good advice here. I'd just like to add that if the header is corrupt on that message it may prevent you from downloading the other messages. Your ISP can check that message, see who it is from and delete it if required.

You may then be able to download the rest of your mail.

Woof!
