Opening Crystal Reports in Macola Error 1

Hello,

We are currently using Macola Progression Series 7.6. One of our users is getting an error when he tries to open up a crystal report in Macola.

The error is:

Macola Runtime Viewer for Crystal Reports 7 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When he tries to open up a Crystal report located inside Macola, it does not open and then the error message pops up.

Any idea of what could be causing this error for the user? He is able to open up the crystal report if he just browses to it and opens it in Windows, but this can be a bit tedious since he normally does it in Macola.

7.6.what? We need the full version number.

Also, Crystal reports 7 is 12 years old, when you update Macola you should have been prompted to update the ICR version. Did you do this?

I would update Macola again and update to the latest ICR version available.

We are using version 7.6.100a. I will double check, but I believe we are updated to the latest version of ICR.

Any reason you are on such an old version? This is at least 8 years old. I take back everything I said in my last post about the Macola install prompting you to update ICRs, it has only been doing that for 3 or 4 years.

Is this one user or all users? One report or all reports?

We are actually planning on getting a new ERP package in a few months, so that's why we're still using this outdated version.

It's just one user having the error, and it's for all crystal reports in macola.

I would delete the program files\common files\macola shared folder, delete all references to Macola everywhere in the registry, and reinstall the Macola client.
