opening .cmx files problems with colors

Hi everyonee,

I have a problem in coreldraw 11
When I openining a .cmx file, somethimes I have a picture filled with black & white blocks.I can't change the colors.Does anyone knows wat the problem is?
I have a cd with thousands of cliparts.sometimes i have cliparts with perfect colors and sometimes black & white blocks,in the previeuws i see always the colors and when i import or open that i have the blocks

are you opening these up in Draw or Photopaint? Usually, you only see the checkerboard in Photopaint when you have no background.

I have this when I open it in draw,when i'm open the same clipart in photopaint I have normal colors
any idea ??
