opening an external file...

I want to have a button open a PDF file that will be in the root of the CD Rom where my projector file is... what does the lingo need to look like to open a PDF file?


On MouseUp me
open sprite number
end

doesnt work for me...

open "myfile.pdf" with (write in the path to Acrobat Reader exe here)
end

If you want the pdf to be inside the Director movie, you will need a third party Xtra.

wow... so how do I know the path on the users machine... or is there some variable in lingo I can use?

I thought I could just 'execute' the pdf file, thereby launching the application that the .PDF extension is associated with.
