Opening a TXT , CSV,DOC , PDF File from a web page

Hi ,
I have a web page where i list files of type txt , csv , pdf , doc . If I click the view button beside the list , it should open the file in the respective
program . How do i accomplish this ?

If the surfer has the relevant software, it'll be used to open the file.
Assuming that they have their browser configured to handle that incoming file type with the appropriate software and that the headers being delivered with the file are set up correctly to reflect the data being sent.

Whilst you have control over the headers being sent correctly, you have no control on how the individual users have their browsers set up. And as Chris says... they need to have the software installed in the first place [smile]
