I have a file, ptfile.mas which is identified as an MS Access Stored Procedure file although I am not sure that it is really that type of file.

An image of the first part of the file is attached.

Any ideas if this is really an Access file or not and if not how would I read it?

Thanks

If it is an Access file, you should be able to open the file regardless of the file extension.

Just try and use access to open the file, select 'all' file types and open the file.

Access will either open the file, bark at you telling you it is not an access file or ask for a security file. If it asks for a security file, then it is also probably an Access file but you need the 'xxx.mdw' security file that was used to create the source.

Hope This Helps,

Tried to open file in Access as you suggested. Access came back with message "Cannot resolve this link.". Sounds like it is not an Access file which is what I suspected.

Any ideas how I would determine what software to use to access it?

Thanks

Hi,

There are about 7 programs that use MAS as an extension.
There might be more.
It could be an Access file or one of these other file types

Here is a link to the 7 programs:
