I'm having a problem opening a front page web. My work has two sites...one of which I can open (only by opening the site in IE and clicking 'edit w/ FP')...and one site that i can't open the web. By opening the page in IE, and by clicking 'edit w/ FP, it brings up the username and password box for the site. When I enter the user and password, it won't work. Before you ask, yes i know the name and password are correct, because I can open and edit the stie from a computer at work.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

It may be being blocked by the Firewall. We have had some problems in the past, modified the firewall rules, and everything was fine. I would check the firewall logs to see if it is being rejected by a rule. Dan

Have you tried opening it from FrontPage instead of IE? It might be that IE was upgraded, and something isn't right. To open from FP, go to File>Open Web. Then type in the web address.

I've tried opening both in FP...neither one worked. The only way I can get the one site to work is by clicking on 'edit' in IE.

In Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) what do you see in "My Network Places"? I would be surprised if you don't see your Web there. Dave [idea]

The only things in there are the links to shared items to MY network computers (desktop and laptop)...no FP webs are present.

This is surprising then. In my experience, "My Network Places" will display a shortcut to any Server-based Webs after they're opened in FP. Dave [idea]
