Open V10 files in V9 of Corel

I received several V10 files via email. When I attempt to open them with my V9 of Corel Draw, I get blank pages. Can V9 open V10 files or do I need the sender to save them as V9 for me to be able to use them?

Yes, this happens to me occasionally and I always have to ask the sender to save the file for the version of Corel I have.
